About this book...

Objective What is the goal?

The primary objective of this book is to teach English speakers how to read and write Amharic. Students will also get a chance to familiarize themselves with Amharic words and their meanings as a secondary objective. That will be coverd in depth in the next book.

Prerequisites What is required?

Students are required to be able to read and understand the English language. Students ARE NOT required to have any prior knowledge of the Amharic Language.

Overview What will be covered?

This book has 2 chapters:

• The first chapter, covers the Amharic Alphabet. This book approaches the Amharic alphabet in 2 sections.
• First section covers the first column (Ge'ez) part of the alphabet in their original order.
• Second section covers the remaining letters grouped by their shapes.
• The second chapter covers how to read and write words using the letters learned in the previous chapter. It will start with simple words with only 2 letters to complex and grows challenging ones.

Assessments Tests and Exercises

There are exercises at the end of each section, and an exam at the end of each chapter.
