About this book...

Objective What is the goal?

The primary objective of this book is to teach English speakers essential Amharic words and their meanings. This book will not cover any grammar, but it will prepare students for it. The next book will teach students Amharic grammar in depth by primarily using the words covered in this book.

Prerequisites What is required?

Students are required to be able

• to read and understand the English language.
• to read the Amharic fidels (Amharic letters). If not, please click here to go to the first book which covers the Amharic syllabary(alphabet).

Overview What will be covered?

This book has 15 chapters that individually cover a specific category or topic. Some chapters have sections to make it easier to memorize the selected words. Each chapter or section only covers words that are related to one another.

Assessments Tests and Exercises

There are exercises at the end of each section, and an exam at the end of each chapter.
